Welcome!
Welcome to The Political Podium! After several months of development and testing it is our hope to be populating the website with authors in the very near future – a few weeks, at most. The Political Podium – or, The Podium, for short – is designed to be a meeting place for college students to exposit, debate, rebuttal and discuss American politics. It is our hope to foster a community of passionate authors who put forth well-written, thoughtful and insightful pieces on topics ranging from court cases, elections, laws, policy, politicians, proposed bills and war to political philosophy, practice, theory and history.
 >
The Podium is, in and of itself, a non-partisan entity. We encourage Republicans and Democrats, liberals and conservatives, libertarians and progressives alike to express their thoughts, opinions and policies. While we accept individuals from across the political spectrum, we seek to encourage intelligent debate – unjustifiable libel or rhetoric will be discouraged.

Update
Major design of the site is now complete. We are still tweaking individual settings to allow for optimization across a variety of web browsers and monitor resolutions. As of now, a minimum screen resolution of 1280x1024 is recommended for ideal viewing.
Currently, we are planning for an early September launch. We will be reaching out to:
- Chapters of College Republicans and College Democrats at the Top 20 Academic Universities (as ranked annually by U.S. News and World Report)
- College Republicans at the Top 20 ‘Most Conservative Students’ Colleges (as ranked by The Princeton Review)
- College Democrats at the Top 20 ‘Most Liberal Students’ Colleges (as ranked by The Princeton Review).
In the coming weeks we plan on acquiring many politically active college students eager for their voices to be heard on a variety of issues, some of which currently line the top of this page. As we grow and expand, or as issues present themselves, we will certainly evolve to include those topics as well.
We currently operate three Twitter accounts.
- @PoliticalPodium tweets updates posted to the site by authors including articles, polls and high-priority news items.
- @RightRepublic tweets conservative news every hour from a variety of sources across the web including POLITICO, FOX News, The Wall Street Journal, and memeorandum to name a few, as well as non-partisan sources such as Reuters and Gallup.
- @LeftLiberty tweets liberal news every hour from a variety of sources across the web including The Huffington Post, Daily KOS, MSNBC, Center for American Progress and The New Republic to name a few, as well as non-partisan sources such as Reuters and Gallup.
Our two news sources, @RightRepublic and LeftLiberty are built-in to our website, accessible from the NEWS tabs alongside either side of the page. All three Twitter accounts, as well as our Facebook fan page and RSS news feed are accessible at the bottom of the website, in the footer. We hope you will follow us on Twitter and become our fan on Facebook!
Stay tuned for our launch – we’ll be announcing the date soon!
Under Construction
Hello, and welcome to the Political Podium! Our website is currently under construction and we expect to be fully operational by the end of the month of August. It is our goal to acquire collegiate authors from universities around the country to write educated, intelligent and non-partisan charged articles relating to the various domestic and foreign issues that face our country; including both esoteric erudite political theory and relevant current political events. Debate, discussion and rebuttal are strongly encouraged.
If you are interested in becoming an author at the Political Podium, for either the Left or the Right, and having your work syndicated across the web, please contact us at admin@thepoliticalpodium.com.
For now, please feel free to follow us on Twitter. @PoliticalPodium will feature the articles written here at the website and our two news syndication feeds @RightRepublic and @LeftLiberty offer current news from a variety of major news services and organizations relevant to their particular political polarity.
